Introducing the Essex Energy Switch 2016      energy-switch-poster   energy-switch-article

A county wide collective aiming to help residents and small businesses save money on their energy bills is to be launched in the High Chelmer Shopping Centre on 6 December.

This year’s Essex Energy Switch is set to open on the same date, running until 14 February, giving residents an easy and hassle free option to find a better deal on their energy cost.

After successful switches over previous years, residents in Essex have saved over £2million through this scheme.

Residents are given the chance to register from the 6 December 2016 until 14 February 2017. Once registration has closed, energy providers will bid against one another to obtain the custom of those who have registered. The winning bidder will be whichever company offers the best prices.

This is a great opportunity for busy people who don’t have time to hunt around for the best offer. It is free to register for the Energy Switch and registrants are under no obligation to switch providers.

The prices offered will be based on the number of residents who register. This means that the more people who register their interest, the better the deal offered.

Whether or not you are happy with the price you currently pay for energy, you should give yourself the opportunity to cut down on your costs by registering for the switch. The process is quick and easy and comes at no cost making the decision a simple one.

To find out more and register for the Essex Energy Switch please visit: www.essex.gov.uk/energyswitch .

Residents who rely on oil for heating, can also make potential savings through a local collective oil buying scheme. More details are at: https://www.essexrcc.org.uk/Oil_Buying_Scheme.aspx .

Attack on elderly gentleman on Mon 26th Sept 2016

Sue Taylor from Neighbourhood Watch reported “I have received unverified reports that an elderly man has been assaulted in Nazeing, someone must have seen this awful attack”.

The gentleman’s daughter writes “On Monday at around 12.30 – 1pm at the traffic lights at Nazeing crossroad he was assaulted by a man in a silver van, the van is either a Renault or a Peugeot van with a roof rack . This man opened the door of my Dads car, hit him and hurt his arm then also took my dads car keys and threw them away.”
